Getting to Dresden Airport

Dresden Airport (DRS) is located around nine kilometres north of the city centre in the Klotzsche district and is excellently connected by both rail and car. Here is how to reach your departure stress-free.

With the S-Bahn S2 directly under the terminal

The airport has its own station in the lower level of the terminal – Saxony’s first underground S-Bahn station. Line S2 runs every half hour and connects the airport directly with the central railway stations of the city.

  • to Dresden Hauptbahnhof: only around 21 minutes
  • stop also at Dresden-Neustadt station
  • frequency: every 30 minutes
  • from the platform directly via lift/escalator into the departure hall

By car via the A4

From all over Saxony and Thuringia you can reach the airport conveniently via the A4 motorway, exit Dresden-Flughafen. From Dresden city centre, the B97 leads directly to the terminal. Ample parking is available directly at the airport (see “Parking at Dresden Airport”).

By bus & public transport

  • The airport is integrated into the Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe (VVO) network – one ticket is valid for S-Bahn and bus.
  • Regional bus lines connect the airport with the northern parts of Dresden and the surrounding area.
  • Taxi ranks are located directly in front of the terminal.
